From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N24ET was on a duly documented ferry flight to richmond air center, indianapolis, IN. The a/c was serviced by banyan air service, ft. Lauderdale, FL prior to the departure. The ferry permit was issued with a special a/w certificate on 6/11/03 by frank q. ray, DARF919001CE. A/c was flight planned i/a/w the requirements of the ferry permit in VFR conditions. During the takeoff roll, the pilot determined that the steering and flight controls were inappropriate for the departure. The decision to abort was at high speed at or very near VI as was stated by the pilot-in-command, roger barmes. The aircraft left the centerline of rwy 08, kfxe, with approximately 1,000 ft. of remaining runway. The a/c left the northside of the rwy 08 at the departure end. It came to rest approx. 50' in the sand at the runway end. Three of the four main landing gear tires were blown. Skid marks indicated heavy braking on a dry runway. No other damage was apparent to the a/c.
