What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot was making the second of three planned full stop night landings and in failing to lower the landing gear, landed gear up on runway 29R. Pilot admits he failed to do a final landing check even though he had a checklist on the panel and in his lap. The gear up warning horn did not activate but the gear warning lights were operational. Pilot has been counseled on the importance of maintaining adherence to following/using the checklist and in doing so prevents human/pilot error from becoming the reason for an incident to occur.
