What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) On June 24, 2003 I was notified that a glider had flown into phone lines during landing in steuben county. There were no reported injuries. The aircraft was hanging in the wires for about 5 hours before it was removed and put in its trailer by the owner. I arrived on the scene on June 25, 2003 and found the aircraft in its trailer at painted post airport. I talked to the owner and inspected the damage. The canopy was destroyed while the pilot was being removed from the aircraft. The cable that the aircraft hit had entered the wing at the root and continued through the leading edge to the main spar. The main spar did not appear to be damaged. There were minor scratches on the right wing and fuselage. This incident is considered closed.
