From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On July 2, 2003, at about 0850 CDT, a Bell 206B3 helicopter, was substantially damaged when it rolled off a landing platform when it was attempting to reposition the aircraft on that landing platform. The pilot described the situation as a dynamic rollover. The right skid of the helicopter became caught on the wooden platform and rolled to the right. The main rotor blade struck the pavement and fuel pumps adjacent to the landing platform. Two weighted portions of the rotor blade tips were sheared off and traveled about 500 feet to the southwest. One rotor tip penetrated the roof of a collision repair center and the second landed near that establishment's parking lot. No injuries were evident or reported.
