What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot taxied aircraft in early morning light and failed to follow a path to avoid collision with concrete curb. Aircraft nose wheel collapsed and prop struck the ground. Pilot stated that newly sealed ramp did not have marking to help avoid the curb but inspection of the ramp revealed no new sealer that would have eliminated the taxi lines. The pilot cut across the ramp where no lines are painted and while looking toward the early sun and also directing some of his attention into the cockpit to look at charts ran into the curb which separates the ramp from the void area before the taxiway.
