What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Iaw the pilot info, the flt originated at Port Huron (phn), MI, at approx noon time, to drummond island (Y66), MI. When the landing gear was selected "down" before landing at Y66, an unsafe LH main gear indication was obtained. Landing gear was cycled a few times, including the emergency extension, with negative results. The pilot decided to leave the gear retracted and flt back to home base (phn). At phn, the same unsafe gear indication was obtained, either by normal or emergency extension. After verification with ground personnel that the LH main gear appears to be stuck in the "up" position, the pilot decided to burn some fuel before he landed the acft with the landing gear syst in the "up" position, on a foam covered rwy. Post insp shows that it appears that the LH main landing gear remains in the "up-lock" position, when the gear was retracted after the takeoff from phn and the rod end of the gear actuating cyl (ozone) broke.
