From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While conducting an off airport landing to a dirt road for training with the department of agricultural, wildlife services, the aircraft touched down on a three point landing and then airborne again approximately one foot off the ground. The aircraft then settled back down on the road and started to drift to the right. The pilot applied left rudder and full power. The engine did not respond immediately and the rudder input was not effective. The pilot then applied hard left brake to compensate for the right drift but the gravel road was loose and ineffective braking resulted. The right main wheel slid off the road and the aircraft entered the ditch and flipped over.
