From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Loss of control while landing on runway 25 at Troutdale, OR. Pilot stated gusty cross winds as cause of the loss of control. He said the aircraft started to veer to the right. He corrected the rudder with little or no effect. He then applied some left brake and the aircraft then tilted to the left catching the lower left wing tip on the ground. The aircraft then nosed over onto the prop and the spinner. Substantial damage to the right upper wing spar tip. Minor damage to the propeller, spinner, wheel fairings, and two of the other wing tips.
