From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 08/05/2003, an incident occurred at sna at 2022 on runway 19L. The aircraft was operated by a CFI and student for the purpose of recurrent training. The aircraft was operated under the provisions of 14 CFR part 91. During landing at sna the instructor made a gear up landing, causing minor damage to the aircraft. The CFI and student were not injured. On 8/06/2003 I inspected the aircraft and reviewed the records. The records were complete and no discrepancies were noted. The propeller was damaged, all blades were bent, skin panels on lower fuselage were scraped, engine exhaust was scraped, bottom antennas were damaged, both gear doors were damaged and left flap was damaged. American aircraft maintenance had done a gear retraction test, also testing the warning horn, no problems were found. On 08/08/2003 received statements from the CFI and student. The statements contained no disparity between them. Both the CFI and student perceived that they had completed the pre-landing checklist. The airplane was subsequently landed in a gear up condition.
