From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was at 2000 MSL on downwind at Cady strip private airport. The pilot extended downwind to get lower. He was still high and fast on base. On final the pilot tried to crab to lose altitude and slow down. He touched down midway down the runway going too fast. When brakes were applied the airplane felt like it wanted to flip over. The grass was wet with dew, and the aircraft ran off the end of the runway over a ditch and flipped over. Substantial damage was done to the aircraft, the pilot suffered minor injuries.
