From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) PIC stated that, shortly after takeoff on runway 04, the right front passenger door opened. He performed a teardrop turn in order to return for a landing on runway 22. Due to the loud wind noise and the distraction of an open door, he neglected to extend the landing gear and landed with gear in the retracted position. The airplane remained on the runway, and all occupants were able to egress without injury. Minor damage to N336T consisted of deformation of the trailing edge of the wing flaps, lower engine cowl skin scrapes, and a bent propeller. This incident, privacy data omitted is closed with this report.
