What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The instructor stated upon takeoff the student started to overcontrol the aircraft with right rudder. The instructor applied left rudder pedal to correct the right turn. Upon applying left rudder pressure, the rudder pedal went full travel to the floor and had no effect on arresting the turn. The aircraft veered off the runway and nosed over with minimal damage. The investigation shows the left rudder cables had been secured by the owner/builder improperly, causing the left rudder cable to fail at the nicopress.
