From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot is the owner of the gyrocopter. His engine RPM was lower than expected so he adjusted the pitch of his pusher rotor by 1 degree. The result was an increase of RPM. He took off on a paved runway but the aircraft did not want to climb. He turned toward a sod field as the aircraft was losing lift. He landed straight down on the sod field in what he characterized as a hard landing. This resulted in damage to the main rotor blades and a bent mast.
