From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Ostrem stated that while rolling out on rwy 07 @ ttd at approximately 10:30 am local time, the nosewheel fork of Lancair N20UC failed allowing the nosewheel to come off. As the nose began to settle, Mr. Ostrem closed the engine fuel mixture and stopped the engine with the propeller horizontal to the ground, preventing engine or propeller damage. The remainder of the nosewheel assembly supported the front of the aircraft and there was no other damage to the aircraft.
