From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During climbout departing kagc, pilot smelled fumes, then he observed a puff of black smoke issue from the lower left instrument panel. He informed Allegheny County tower that he had smoke in the cabin and requested and received an immediate clearance to return and land at kagc. He landed and taxied to the ramp without further assistance. Airport rescue and fire fighting equipment responded at the tower's request. A defective 60 amp circuit breaker p/n S1596-60 was replaced and aircraft was returned to service.
