From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot danelle pope flying a Cessna 150 (N66748) lost site of aircraft (N6091G) which was ahead of her in the traffic pattern at Wayne County Airport, bjj, Wooster, Ohio. Student pilot pipe then observed an aircraft on final and touching down and believed that to be the aircraft that was in front of her in the pattern. This aircraft was actually another aircraft that was on a VOR approach. The original aircraft (N6091G) that was in the pattern ahead of her had extended downwind for separation. When student pilot pope turned final she was not in a position to see the original aircraft (N6091G) which was just below and in front of her (shadowing). The first aircraft N6091G touched down preparing for a touch and go and was almost immediately struck from behind by miss pope in N66748. The right half of the elevator and horizontal stabilizer were substantially damaged along with the aft portion of the tail skin and underlying structur on N6091G. N66748 had propeller strike to the other aircraft as well as engine stoppage.
