From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) As described by the flight attendant: a whooshing sound was heard in the aft cabin area. The cabin filled with smoke and heat. A passenger tried to open R2 door but was stopped by the flight attendant. Other passengers opened the left and right over wing emergency exit doors and proceeded to exit onto the wings. With the over wing exit doors opened, smoke and heat subsided enough for the flight attendants to better evaluate the situation. They stopped the evacuation from the wing areas and used R2 door slide as the evacuation route.
