From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) PIC was conducting unusual attitudes training over the mount diablo/byron area at approximately 4000 ft. after training was complied with the PIC descended to 1300 ft. and began a climb to 1500 ft. for return to haward. The aircraft began to sputter as if it were running out of fuel. Several attempts to restart the engine were unsuccessful. Due to power lines in the area the PIC opted to land on the local golf course. There was only minor damage associated with the incident and no reported injuries.
