From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N1338B was on a personal solo flight from hollister municipal airport (3O7) to Reid-Hillview Of Santa Clara county airport (krhv). The aircraft made a normal three-point landing on runway 31L with calm wind. During the landing roll-out, the aircraft ground looped just past taxiway charlie, exited the runway, and struck the taxiway sign causing the aircraft to flip over onto its back. The crash into the sign and resulting flip caused substantial damage to the aircraft's structure. The pilot received no injury. Although the pilot stated he did not use the brakes, the skid marks on the runway preceded the taxiway charlie exit from the runway giving the appearance the pilot had attempted to brake for taxiway charlie.
