From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was an on the scene investigation. Eyewitnesses to the accident stated that the aircraft was at an altitude of approximately 300-500 feet in level flight when the nose lifted up and then dropped, the aircraft began to spin to the right, a four to six turn rotation was noted before the aircraft crashed nose down into a muddy field. According to witnesses on the scene the pilot died on impact, the passenger a six year old boy was seriously injured. From what the eyewitnesses stated it appears that the aircraft stalled and then entered into a spin to the right, the pilot evidently did not recover from the spin in time before striking the ground.
