From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff on runway 28R at fcm the pilot stated the engine shuddered and lost power. He opted to move power lever to idle and land. Pilot did not have time to extend the landing gear. Aircraft landed gear up and slid off end of runway 28R. Investigation revealed substantial damage to aircraft belly. The prop govenor and overspeed govenor were removed and sent to NTSB for examination. The NTSB reported the overspeed govenor appeared to have been adjusted and was out of limits. The prop govenor also appeared to be out of adjustment. It could not be determined through review of the maintenance records when the adjustments had been done.
