From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 01/25/2004, during takeoff, swia flight #3948 (ont/slc) nose landing gear failed to retract. The aircraft diverted to psp (due to swia mx facility). Upon landing, both NLG tires blew. The captain was able to maintain control, and stop the aircraft without injury to crew/passengers, or any hull damage. Swia psp maintenance discovered the NLG drage brace disconnected (quick disconnect pins not seated). The pins were seated, and both NLG tires were replaced. The aircraft, with passengers, departed for slc.
