From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft was dispatched from ptk at around 17:00 on 1/29/2004 to go to det and pick up a load of freight. The aircraft had been parked outside for about 3 weeks prior to the trip in frigid weather. The trip to det was uneventful, the aircraft was loaded with the freight and then departed det, bound for akron-canton oh. After departure from det, the pilot selected "gear up" and the gear would not come up. This was repeated 2 more times wit the same results. The pilot decided to divert back to ptk, selected "gear down" and landed at ptk. During rollout, both main gear slowly retracted until the aircraft came to rest on the flaps, nose gear, and tail.
