What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Departing cmh and climbing through 3,000 feet MSL, the flight entered icing conditions. The automatic anti-ice came followed by a pop and then a hissing sound. Subsequently the flight crew received the master caution warning and the eicas "bld 2 lk" message. They then received a "stab a/ice fail", and then a "ice cond-a/i inop" warning message. The flight attendant reported a smoke smell in the cabin. The crew shut down the affected engine per the checklist, declared an emergency and returned to the airport. The smoke migrated into the cockpit. The crew turned off the runway and evacuated the passengers on the taxiway through the main passenger door. Maintenance reports that the cause was a bleed duct clamp failure.
