From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The landing gear failed to fully extend during approach to psp. The pilot tried emergency extension procedures. Tower gave the pilot a holding pattern to work the emergency. He determined that the hydraulic system was too low or depleted, so he put some makeshift fluid in the system (water). It was decided to land the acft on a foamed runway. The acft landed without injury to the pilot. The acft was lifted by crane and taken to L-08 maintenance facility. Mx. Discovered a missing rt MLG actuator cap missing and a bent landing gear strut. All gear doors and the fuselage received scrape marks from the runway during the gear up landing. Both pusher and puller prop tips bent. No fire to acft. This office considers this matter closed.
