From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was enroute from vct to axh when he encountered very low visibility (below 300 feet). He elected to make an emergency landing in a field rather than risk hitting a tower, power line etc. Upon landing, the aircraft went approximately 300 feet prior to hitting a barb wire fence which caused the aircraft to flip over and come to a stop within approximately 30 feet. The aircraft received substantial damage to the wings (spar damage), fuselage, vertical and horizontal stabilizers and flight controls.
