From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot of CE-180, N223WH on 3/31/04, departed the Eagle River airport (egv) in order to fly local, to meet the 90 day proficiency requirements. He entered the egv traffic pattern to make his take off and landings. His first landing did not feel right to him so he made a go around. The second attempt to land, the aircraft ballooned up and the pilot made an attempt to recover, but lost control and ran off the left side of runway 4 at egv, at approximately 1620 CST. The aircraft was substantially damaged. It was reported by a pilot that landed shortly before N223WH stated that he encountered a lot of turbulence on approach. He decided not to make any more take offs or landings and parked his airplane in his hanger.
