What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The wind was aligned with the runway, but gusting from 10 to 20 knots causing minor wind shear on final approach and moderate turbulence in the traffic pattern while the pilot was practicing landings. On his second landing he landed hard, bounced back into the air, went around and landed a third time. After shutdown he noticed the bent propeller and wrinkled fuselage aft of the firewall. The pilot had flown only a few hours since his private pilot checkride in August of 2003. Pilot induced.
