From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was making the approach to runway 20 at aiy (Atlantic City muni/Bader field) for landing. As the aircraft was in a flare to land the landing gear retracted back into their wells. The aircraft settled on the runway. The prop hit the runway and there was minor damage to the belly of the aircraft. Pilot stated during interview that he did not secure the landing gear handle in the down position. As he was landing the handle moved from the down position to the up position causing the gear to retract and he did not have time to abort the landing.
