From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 3, 2004, at 1800 CDT, an air tractor, AT-502B, N5002D, collided with air tractor, AT-502B, N6068H, during the execution of a landing near Weldon, Arkansas, on a Private grass and asphalt runway. N6068H had executed a straight-in approach while N5002D executed a right hand base-to-final constantly turning approach to the same runway. N6068H had just touched down and N5002D landed on top of N6068H, thus N5002D'S propeller cut off the tail of N6068H (N5002D was unable to see N6068D due to having the left wing raised during the right hand turning approach). There were no injuries to either pilot. N6068H sustained substantial damage, while N5002D sustained minor damage. The aircraft were being operated by Weldon flying service, LLC, under FAR part 137 when the accident occurred. The flights originated at the departure airstrip and VFR conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. No flight plan was filed for either aircraft.
