From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft was parked at the gate. The passengers had already been deplaned. The pilot was dry motoring the #1 engine after a previous hung start. The pilot then observed the fire handle warning light illuminate and then heard the aural fire warning bell sound off. The pilot then pulled the fire handle and used both fire bottles to extinguish the internal engine fire. Both fire handle warning light and warning bell indications ceased. The ARFF arrived on scene and also sprayed 500 lbs. Of extinguishing agent into the #1 engine.
