From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After departing for a second flight, the pilot noted that the winds had shifted and increased in velocity, causing his balloon to be carried to the west, over the city of Bend. After an unsuccessful attempt to locate more favorable winds by climbing to a higher altitude, the pilot elected to land. As N7029C approached the selected landing area it brushed the tops of trees in the area in order to reduce it's ground speed. The pilot then descended more rapidly then he intended and brushed the upper surface of a building located to the northeast of the intended landing area, causing minor damage to the roof of the building. The pilot reports that the touchdown, in 7th street to the west of the garrison square shopping center in Bend, was uneventful, and that his ground crew was present to assist him. privacy data omitted Who was a passenger aboard N7029C received a minor sprain to her ankle during the landing because her foot was improperly placed behind the balloons fuel tank.

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WHO WAS A PASSENGER ABOARD N7029C RECEIVED A MINOR SPRAIN TO HER ANKLE DURING THE LANDING BECAUSE HER FOOT WAS IMPROPERLY PLACED BEHIND THE BALLOONS FUEL TANK.
