From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N761TD, a 1978 Cessna 210 aircraft piloted by Mr. Doyle pergande crashed on landing a Mallard Creek, Idaho, a Private Airport. The Mallard Creek airport is a 2000 foot grass strip with a dirt road in the center of the runway. In addition, the runway is bordered by tall pine trees on both ends and is located at 5,200 feet MSL. During the landing heading north, Mr. Pergande allowed the aircraft to drift to the left of the runway centerline. The nose gear of the aircraft struck a berm and flipped over on its back. This impact occurred at approximately 200 feet from the touch down zone on the south end of the runway. The aircraft received substantial damage, or will be considered destroyed at a later date. Mr. Pergande stated the wind may have been a factor in his inability to maintain runway alignment. Both Mr. Pergande and his passenger received minor injuries as a result of the accident. No mechanical problems were reported by the pilot.
