From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At approximately 1140 am, the pilot traveling from concord, NH to mobile, al had planned to land at pace airport (VA02) for fuel. The pilot was using VOR signals for navigation and when he got below 3500 ft., he saw an Airstrip that he thought was VA02. The pilot then made an approach and landed but then overshot the runway. The aircraft due to its high approach speed overshot the runway after touchdown and slid down the embankment and came to a stop with minor damage and no injuries. After landing the pilot realized he landed at a private Airstrip.
