From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot flew two cross-country flights prior to accident, mostly in turbulent conditions. Upon arriving at home base, the pilot stated that the AWOS reported mev winds as 210-240 degrees, 14KTS gusting to 17KTS. She elected to land into the wind on closed, hard surface taxiway. Attempted a full-stall landing but bounced hard on main gear prior. Aircraft began a porpoise-type bounce and yawed to right. Aircraft then departed the hard surface into sagebrush. Pilot attempted to straighten out with power without effect. Aircraft ground-looped. Right main gear collapsed and right outboard rib was damaged.
