From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Greg siemann was practicing takeoffs and landings on runway 13 at the Arthur n. neu airport, Carroll, Iowa. Mr. Siemann, after the final landing, did a 180 degree turn to taxi off the runway. He then inadvertently raised the landing gear handle thinking it was the flap handle. This happened while the aircraft was still in a right turn, which unloaded the landing gear squat switch, allowing the gear to partially re-track. The pilot was not alone and not injured. privacy data omitted This incident is closed with this report.
