What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) During a local airplane tow glider flight, the pilot discovered that he was too FAR away from his intended point of landing because of the lack of sufficient thermal activity. The pilot picked a grass field but then discovered it was a plowed and disked field so he changed to another field. During the off field landing the glider touched down hard cracking the fuselage and damaging the landing gear. The pilot was the only occupant and sustained minor injuries.
