From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) A student pilot, Mr. Louis w. illiano, was soloing a Cessna 152, N48231. On the second landing, the aircraft bounced and drifted to the right side of the runway. The aircraft then touched down off the runway and struck two (2) runway lights. The left main gear strut struck the first light and the propeller struck the second light. The struts cover was slightly damaged and the propeller had damage to approximately 6 inches of the tip. No other damage found or reported. There were no injuries to the student pilot. Reviewed the student records. All endorsements were properly signed by the flight instructor. There were two endorsements on the student pilots old student certificate. Due to a lapse in training, Mr. Illiano obtained another medical, (a first class medical, but it did not include a new student pilot certificate). The last solo endorsement for make and model was placed on the old student certificate. privacy data omitted A new student pilots certficate was issued to Mr. Illiano. All maneuvers and ground instruction required before solo flight were completed. This matter is closed.
