From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that he departed the airport for some pattern work. When he was downwind for landing he accomplished his checklist including the lowering of the landing gear. There were two aircraft in the pattern in front of him and they seemed to fly further out than unusual for landing. Due to the extended downwind he chose to retract his gear for better performance. He turned final and proceeded to the airport to land and forgot that he had retracted the gear. He subsequently landed gear up. There were no injuries. An airworthiness inspector went to the airport and stated that there was minor damage to the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
