From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot attempted to extend the landing gear and did not get a gear down indication. The emergency procedures (manual extention) to extend the landing gear did not extend the gear. The pilot then called the Homestead tower (HST), declared an emergency and accomplished a belly landing in the grassy area on the north side of runway nine at KX51. Inspection of the aircraft revealed the left main landing gear extend/retract cable, bearing rod end was broken. The broken rod end allowed the unconnected extend/retract cable to jam the landing gear and cause the gear to not extend from the wheel well.

As the FAA filed it
