From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that the nose wheel collapsed while he was taxiing back to the spot. Inspection of the nose gear revealed that the lock pin had broken. Pin is going to be replaced and m or d is possibly going to be filed due to pin failure. Aircraft suffered only prop damage, which is going to be replaced after engine inspection is complete. Airman report on the pilot indicates that he has an expired medical. Spoke with the pilot and he claims that he was unaware of his expired medical status.
