From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft flew for approximately 30 minutes. The aircraft landed and shut down. The aircraft was fueled, the pilot and passenger boarded, and the aircraft departed. Right after takeoff the pilot noted that he had no aileron control (no left or right). The aileron controls felt stiff and jammed. The aircraft was approximately 1/4 mile from the departure end of the runway (approximately 50FT in altitude) when it contacted a tree and came to rest in a wooded area. The pilot and passenger safely egressed the aircraft and walked out of the woods. Neither occupant suffered any injuries.
