From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Flight from chandler AZ to (kchd) st. george, ut (ksgu) pilot felt a slight vibration in the yoke, the engine made a loud noise and quit. The pilot landed in field about one mile north of I-40. The aircraft landed with no damage to it or the two occupants. Investigation found that number three cylinder failed. The aircraft was put on a trailer and taken to st. george. Note: I was told by Mr. Haynes that his pilot logs were lost during the removal of the aircraft from the field. That is the reason for no times in block 31.
