From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot had departed llano airport in VMC conditions, on a VFR flight plan with full fuel. The pilot had conducted a touch and go at Goebel field on runway 14, a grass strip. On the takeoff phase of the touch and go the pilot pulled up to clear trees at the end of the runway, the airspeed decayed to stall speed. The airplane sank with a nose high attitude and contacted the ground on the main landing gear. The aircraft bounced and the nose pitched down and made contact with the ground a second time with the propeller striking the ground and the nose gear collapsing. The nose of the aircraft dug into the ground (an uphill slope) and the airplane flipped on it's back and skid approximately 75 feet. The pilot shut off the fuel selector and master switch, then he and the passenger exited the aircraft. The airplane's left hand wing spar was twisted and the vertical rudder was crushed.

As the FAA filed it
