From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) A dhl delivery van drove around the right wing tip of the dhl 727-200 towards the aft cargo door. The aircraft was mostly loaded with the flight crew on board. The van first drove into the loading area behind the wing nose first, then continued in a clockwise direction towards the right wingtip, thus positioning itself to back up to the aft cargo door. The top front of the delivery truck struck the right aileron of the 727. There was substantial damage to the aircraft, which appeared limited to the aileron, and little damage to the truck.
