From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot has stated that he was on approach to rwy 26L at the Spirit of st. Louis airport, chesterfield, MO and broke out at about 800 feet. As he crossed over the approach end of the runway, his approach plates fell to the floor and he believes that as he reached down to pick them up, he pushed the nose over and flew into the runway. The aircraft bounced approximately three times prior to landing. The pilot then taxied all the way around the airport to the aircraft's base of operations.
