From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was enroute to syv. When he arrived in the terminal area he reduced power for descent, approach and landing. When he began to bring power back in the engine did not respond and he maneuvered directly towards the airport to attempt a landing. Looking a little low on the approach, he decided not to put any flaps down. As he approached the airport, he lowered the gear and landed short of the runway, on the airport property. He was not sure if the right gear light was on or not, but he said it did not seem to be over-center and locked down. As the aircraft went down the runway, the right main collapsed. The aircraft slid off the runway and collided with a parked aircraft (N30197). This aircraft sustained damage to one of the wings and the fuel tank ruptured. There was no fire associated with this collision. The accident was reported to the atlanta FSDO during duty hours while the assigned inspector was out of the office. The inspector contacted the roc at about 1700HRS and was told about the accident and the owner had the aircraft removed as approved by the NTSB. The owner had the aircraft trucked out by early afternoon.
