From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot in command states the aircraft lost power while in cruise at around 4000 feet MSL and requested a landing with the engine out to the Reid-Hillview ATC tower. Pilot also said he tried to start the engine while in flight with no success. The aircraft made a safe landing and was towed back to their hangar. Further attempts to start the engine while on the ground were successful with no apparent mechanical malfunctions. The pilot and mechanic who examined the aircraft suspect fuel contamination of some kind.
