From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The pilot stated that during the landing phase there was a gusty crosswind. During the flare the aircraft ballooned and a little power was added to prevent a hard landing. The aircraft touched down about a third down the runway. The pilot attempted to apply reverse thrust but was unsuccessful at placing the power levers in the reverse position. The pilot made the decision to stop on the remaining runway with the use of brakes only. After aggressive braking three tires were blown and the aircraft ultimately went off the end of the runway.
