From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On short final the pilot declared to the tower controller the engine dying. Aircraft was landing on runway 07 and had made an ILS approach. The airplane nose gear struck the last approach light prior to the runway. The airplane received minor damage and the only occupant the pilot was not injured. IMC conditions prevailed. The plane had flown from Toledo suburban airport on an IFR flight plan. Investigation of incident is ongoing. The engine is to be field checked by a mechanic to see if mechanical failure is involved. Next the engine is to go to a repair station for compliance with AD concerning sudden stoppage. Amended report to be filed with updated information and corrective action planned. (-23 amendment) as of February 28, 2005, no inspection has been done by the owner.
